Bat Country Pet Sitting provides in-home support for aging, disabled, and medically complex animals, whether they’re fluffy, feathered, or scaled.

My name is Brea Corwin. I work with solo pets to multi-species households and provide caring, reliable support for pets who are mobility-limited, anxious, recovering from surgery, or just need a slower pace and a gentle touch.

Every animal has different needs and senior or special needs pets often require extra time, attention, and care tailored to their species.

I offer compassionate, in-home support for dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, small mammals, and other animals facing medical challenges, mobility issues, or post-surgical recovery.

From medication and subcutaneous fluid administration to feeding assistance and pet enrichment, my services are grounded in experience, patience, and respect for your pet’s unique needs.

Dogs & Cats

I provide drop-in and live-in support for dogs and cats with chronic conditions like arthritis, dementia, blindness, deafness, diabetes, epilepsy, thyroid issues, recovering from surgery or other physical, emotional, or medical challenges.

This includes:

• oral, topical, subcutaneous (sub-q) fluid administration
• injectable medications (like insulin)
• hand or syringe feeding, and
• companionship for pets with cognitive decline or anxiety

I also offer wound care support, enrichment activities adapted for low mobility, and collaborative care alongside your veterinarian or physical therapist.

Reptiles & Amphibians

For critters recovering from illness or injury, I help maintain species-appropriate heat, humidity, and lighting conditions, assist with medications, hydration and nutritional support (including assisted feeding), and monitor for signs of stress or decline.

Birds

My services for birds include helping with special diets, basic mobility assistance for birds with foot, wing, or spinal issues, helping with post-procedure monitoring, and chronic conditions like arthritis in older birds and feather-destructive behavior (under veterinary guidance).

Small Mammals & Exotics

I care for ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, rats, and other small animals needing medication administration, syringe or hand feeding, wound care and monitoring, GI support, and calm, skilled companionship during recovery from procedures or surgery.

What I Offer

• Overnight pet care
• 24 hour live-in pet care
• Medication and mobility support
• Oral, topical, sub-q fluids, and injectable meds (like insulin)
• Low-stress, “No Pain/No Fear” handling
• Syringe feeding & meal prep (including raw, handmade, or prescription diets and meals for obligate carnivores like ferrets and snakes)
• Enrichment planning (custom activities to support your pet’s body and mind)

Please note:

• I do not perform bladder expression or administer IV medications.
• Mobility assistance is limited to pets under 25 lbs.

Post-Surgical Care & Recovery Support

Healing takes time and a little help. I offer in-home support for pets recovering from surgery, including:

• Wound and incision monitoring and basic care
• Assistance with medication schedules and mobility
• Supporting your veterinarian or physical therapist with at-home support plans
• Rides to veterinary or specialist appointments
• Comfort-focused companionship to reduce stress and encourage rest

Every recovery is different. I’ll work with you and your veterinary team to provide calm, consistent support that respects your pet’s healing process and unique needs.

Medical Pet Sitting & Respite Care

Supporting a medically complex pet is a labor of love, but it can also be physically and emotionally draining. I offer professional, vet-aligned in-home care, whether you need backup while at work, a chance to rest and recharge, or support during a planned trip.

With Bat Country Pet Sitting, you don’t need to choose between your pet’s health and your own well-being. I work within your pet’s existing care plan and can step in for routine tasks, treatments, or simply to provide loving companionship while you’re away.

First Aid & Emergency Planning

I offer one-on-one consults to help pet guardians prepare for emergencies – from natural disasters to medical crises.

Together, we’ll build a customized plan that includes species-appropriate first aid essentials, evacuation checklists, medication tracking, and communication strategies.

I’m a former veterinary technician with experience in small animal, exotic, and emergency/critical care clinics. I’m certified in Pet First Aid & CPR through ECSI and trained in disaster response through FEMA.

My background means I’m calm under pressure, confident with medications and monitoring, and comfortable supporting a wide range of species.

But more than that, I know how to listen to animals and their people. My care is never rushed, never generic, and always informed by your pet’s needs, routines, and comfort.

I collaborate closely with your veterinarian’s care plan. I am not a substitute for veterinary diagnosis or treatment. I do not prescribe medications or perform procedures. Your pet’s health and safety are always my top priorities.
